The kitchen is so beautifully built, you can tell it will last for a long, long time from the way everything feels when you use it. It really is our dream kitchen”

Sam & Alex, a husband and wife from the East Midlands, had recently purchased their dream home, an historic Edwardian property in south Nottinghamshire.

They had the property extended to allow them to convert their old kitchen into a combined open living space with a beautiful painted kitchen, plus dining and family area so their family of four (plus dogs Lulu & India!) could grow into it and they wanted a kitchen that would last for a lifetime.

Sam, a residential Property Developer, said:

“As someone who’s spent a lifetime in property development, having a kitchen of the highest quality was of upmost importance us. I was already aware of Kesseler because of their Lifetime Guarantee which gave us huge peace of mind.

Space and light were also key, we wanted it to feel welcoming and bright so we opted for a lantern above the island, bi-fold doors leading to the patio and the whole kitchen facing the entertainment area so whoever is cooking is still able to engage with the rest of the family.”

“Working with Kesseler from the start of the project made everything so smooth and easy. Our designer took care of everything and project managed all of the elements allowing us to focus on the important things.”

The couple currently have two young children but saw their new kitchen as an important hub for their growing family and their lifestyles.

Alex is a Project Manager who spends much of the week working from home.

She said: “after dropping our eldest son off at nursery, I really enjoy a morning coffee whilst I check my emails and schedule. I love the integrated Smeg coffee machine which the rest of the time is hidden behind the concertina doors.

One of my favourite times of the day is sitting at the island with my coffee on a light sunny morning where I can plan my day and look out over our garden.”

The couple wanted a scheme that reflected their love of the outdoors when they utilised Kesseler’s colour reference matching service.

Sam & Alex enjoy deep green tones throughout their home and wanted their new kitchen to reflect this. For such an important element of their new home, personalisation was key.

Instead of opting for standard colours, the couple wanted a scheme that reflected their love of the outdoors when they utilised Kesseler’s colour reference matching service.

Choosing from Farrow & Ball’s beautiful range, the 2.8m long island was painted in a rich Studio Green, with the lighter colour of Drop Cloth on the surrounding units adding balance and light.

The cabinet interior is Grey Bardolino Oak which has a wonderfully natural feel and is a fitting nod to the history of this property, which was built in 1907.

These colours combine beautifully with the quartz White Arabesque worktop from Silestone. Glass cabinets with integrated lighting and decorative antique mirror allow them to show off their finest glassware and helps the kitchen to feel open and spacious whilst adding a slight contemporary touch.

Their Kesseler kitchen brings them together and enables easy cooking with intelligent storage, plenty of space and a logical layout for quick access to the oven, the fridge freezer & sink.

    Alex finished:

“We absolutely love our Kesseler kitchen. This is the room that we spend the most time in as a family or when we’re entertaining our friends for parties, at Christmas and throughout the year. We really enjoy cooking together and making it a family event, the children are growing up learning how to cook great meals and we have so much fun doing it.

The kitchen is so beautifully built, you can tell it will last for a long, long time from the way everything feels when you use it. It sounds like a bit of a cliché I know, but it really is our dream kitchen and I wouldn’t change a thing!”
