“It’s a pleasure to use, a pleasure to walk into – I just love my kitchen.” — Karen

When Karen and Paul took on the renovation of their 1960s home, they knew they wanted a kitchen that reflected their personal style and elevated how they lived day to day. Karen, the creative force behind the interior design, had a clear vision: bold, characterful and uncompromising.

It was Kesseler that immediately caught her attention. “I’d seen them on social media and it just jumped out at me,” she says. “The concept, the quality, the features – it looked like the kitchen I’d always imagined.”

The One That Stood Out from the Start

Karen explored a number of brands before returning to the one that had resonated from the beginning. “Kesseler was always my dream kitchen,” she says. But more than that, it was the experience of working with designer Richard that made it special. “Nothing was ever too much trouble – and he made the whole process not only easy, but enjoyable.”

Richard worked closely with both Karen and the builder to align every detail. From colour schemes to handles, he guided decisions with care – providing samples, making thoughtful suggestions and helping ensure that everything felt cohesive. Even distinctive elements like the flooring and existing pieces of furniture were considered within the design plans, offering a clear visual of how the completed space would come together.

Design That Complements the Everyday

This kitchen is anything but minimal. It’s expressive, full of character, and crafted to suit the way Karen and Paul live. Her love of layered textures and striking interiors brings a unique warmth to the space, supported by clever layout choices and beautifully considered storage.

“There’s something about opening the big larder cupboard first thing in the morning,” she says. “Or sitting at the island in the evening with a glass of wine – it’s a space we genuinely enjoy being in.”

A Kitchen That Connects and Welcomes

Beautifully curated and full of thoughtful detail, the kitchen features a harmonious blend of soft Cashmere and rich Fir Green. This palette connects seamlessly with both the indoor plants and the lush garden just beyond the stunning bifold doors. Green is the defining colour, making the space feel connected, calm and full of life.

Whether enjoying slow mornings or hosting visiting family from abroad, the kitchen has become a natural gathering space. “It’s where everything comes together – relaxed, sociable and so inviting.”

Thoughtful Advice for Future Clients

Karen and Paul would wholeheartedly recommend Kesseler – not just for the end result, but for the journey. “It was a standout experience,” Karen says. “From start to finish, it felt considered and collaborative.”

Her advice? “There are so many choices and decisions to be made but take your time to enjoy the process. When it all comes together, it’s incredibly rewarding.”
